Prayer for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe , by: Education for Justice

Lady of Guadalupe,
You have long been present to the sorrows
Of the people of these American lands.

You brought to those without power
Your image, your presence,
Your grace and gifts, like brilliant roses in a cold month.

Pray for us to be present as well to your beloved people,
Especially women living in fear:
In Mexico, in Guatemala, in El Salvador,
Where young women continue to disappear,

Where female bodies are found, mutilated,
Where those in power do nothing,

The Announcing , by: CAFOD

Lover of my soul,
I give you thanks for Mary,
obedient, expectant, surprised and ecstatic.
For her patient waiting, her quiet questioning,
her readiness to receive, her willingness to give,
for her magnificent song of praise
and the welcoming womb of Jesus.

Holy Redeemer,
we rejoice that you tumble the proud
and lift up the humble;
that you send the rich away with nothing
and pour out blessings for the poorest of the poor.
We give you thanks
that you call call us to go and heal
