NETWORK
n/t
Located in Washington D.C., NETWORK is a National Catholic Social Justice Lobby. NETWORK strives to educate, lobby and organize decision-makers to influence the formation of federal legislation to promote economic and social justice. In keeping with Catholic Social Teaching and the values of the Church, NETWORK envisions a social, economic and political order that ensures human dignity as well as the dignity of all of God's creation, celebrates racial, ethnic and cultural diversity, and promotes the common good.
The actions of the American government have wide implications for the entire world. If the political will was present, the government could effect enormous progress in eradicating poverty and injustice. NETWORK therefore works hard to build the political will needed to take steps toward justice, hoping to develop a just, participatory and sustainable world community. Founded as a contemporary response to the ministry of Jesus, NETWORK uses Catholic Social Teaching and the life experience of people who are poor as lenses for viewing social reality. As a women-led membership organization, NETWORK values participation, mutuality, cooperation and stewardship.
NETWORK has consistently raised a strong voice for social justice on Capitol Hill. They are a voice and a sign of hope for American Catholics who wish to see the values of Catholic Social Teaching realized in the policies of the government.
