"Invictus" Film Discussion Guide & CST
Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison for fighting apartheid in South Africa. This year marks the 20th anniversary of his release. This film is the true story of Nelson Mandela’s effort to unite South Africa and overcome apartheid through every means possible...including rugby.
Mandela was released in 1990 and became the first black president of South Africa in 1994. This movie chronicles that event and reveals the difference real leadership and vision can make in healing a divided nation. The final victory for them is not just a rugby championship, but a new sense of the possibility of unity across race and class.
