Guided Meditation: Summoned to Peace, Called to Be Peacemakers
The guided meditation, is a tool for prayer that can be used to summon us more deeply into the experience of God's presence and peace. During prayer, we can use our senses to develop a keener awareness of the movements of the Holy Spirit in us. But prayer is not simply an experience of the individual with God; prayer should also make us more sensitive to the suffering of others and help us to develop solidarity with the world around us.
This guided meditation focuses on peace--both within oneself and in the world. It is perfect for use during the month of January following the celebration of the World Day of Peace on January 1, as well as in February and March in the lead-up to the anniversary of the Iraq war, or during any other time of the year.
