For Father's Day, Remembering Iraqi Fathers
Catholic Social Teaching emphasizes that the well-being of families is essential to the long-term development of the human community. In Iraq, many families are experiencing the effects of violence. For Father's Day, this resource tells the stories of several Iraqi families from the perspective of fathers who are experiencing the loss of family members; an inability to seek treatment for sick family members; fear of death or injury on the job as a policeman or Iraqi security forces member; and the struggle for survival as an internally displaced family. A prayer for Iraqi fathers and families is included.
