Elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (August 2006)
In July 2006, an historical event took place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): the first democratic elections in over forty years took place. However, the country still faces great instability and much can be done by the international community to aid a peaceful governmental transition.
