Allegany Franciscan Foundation
n/t
This Foundation, guided by the mission and rooted in the tradition of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, is a catalyst for systemic change by committing resources and working collaboratively with others to promote physical, mental, spiritual, societal and cultural well-being in the communities they serve in Florida. The values the Foundation is committed to include viewing issues and problems through a wide lens so that the marginalized are included; addressing the root cause of social problems by nurturing an environment of well-being and self-sufficiency; collaborating with others to secure what is best for the common good; being in relationships with those who are experiencing difficult challenges; pursuing creative and innovative solutions which provide for an alternative future society; promoting a healthy social, as well as physical and spiritual, environment, and advocating on behalf of women, the economically poor and those oppressed by unjust structures. The Education for Justice Web Site and Network is the recipient of funding from the Allegany Franciscan Foundation.
