The UN Security Council approved a resolution to send UN peacekeepers to the region - but only with the approval of the Sudanese government. The UN and the U.S. bishops are encouraging the U.S. to take leadership in ensuring that the international community takes action in this crisis which has been called the "worst humanitarian crisis" currently in the world.
